thesixtyone Redesign

Posted on January 21st, 2010 by Sauli Hirvi

thesixtyone.com did a major redesign pretty much out of the blue. The interface went through a complete rehaul and some extensive conceptual changes are under way. Their fans at Facebook are not happy.

First thing that struck me was that you can no longer leave comments on profile pages. From now on commenting is reserved for songs only. This is unfortunate, since t61 users were refreshingly active in leaving feedback and comments. It seems likely that from now on there will be significantly less communication between artists and fans. I hope I’m wrong.

Below are screenshots of my artist page before and after the design. The new design is just a non-interactive album cover where you don’t see any comments or listeners. Luckily, my photo works pretty well on the new version. I’ll try to keep an optimistic outlook on the new version.
